Gracie Barra North Austin & Gracie Barra Hutto - Texas

Professor Ricardo F. de Moraes, 49 years old, originally from Valinhos, São Paulo, Brazil, has devoted his life to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since discovering it at age 16. With more than 40 years of continuous martial arts training and teaching, he began at the age of four in Judo and has never stopped learning, practicing, and sharing the art.

Since moving to the United States in 2009, Ricardo has taught and led at some of the most respected Gracie Barra academies in the country, including Gracie Barra Lake Elsinore, Gracie Barra Anaheim Hills, and the Gracie Barra US Headquarters in Irvine, California.

Today, he proudly owns and instructs at Gracie Barra North Austin (near The Domain) and Gracie Barra Hutto in Texas, delivering the authentic Gracie Barra methodology to the Austin community with emphasis on safe technique, consistent progress, and personal development.

A seasoned competitor, Ricardo has earned multiple titles at the state, national, and international levels in both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. Complementing his extensive mat experience, he holds university degrees in Physical Education and Business Management, enabling him to guide students holistically—from building confidence in children to improving fitness, stress management, and self-defense in adults.

For Professor Ricardo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is much more than a sport: it is a lifestyle that fosters discipline, focus, resilience, respect, and strong community connections. His structured programs are designed for everyone.
